Designed by trailblazing Italian industrial designer and architect Mario Bellini in 1974 for B&B Italia. Unlike most sofas which rely on a solid frame, the Stelle utilizes a balance of tension achieved through a minimal series of U-shaped tubular steel pieces with metal hinges. The mechanism was compared by Bellini himself to the lightweight frame on a pair of eye-glasses.

This unique feature allowed the factory to store large quantities of the sofa’s frames in a small area. In original chocolate brown velvet and in very good vintage condition. All labels intact.
